The short version

We collect only what we need to mail your letters and look after your subscription. We never sell or rent your information, and we don’t use advertising trackers.

What we collect

  • Your name and email, for receipts, your welcome email and links to manage your subscription.
  • The mailing name and address the letters go to, which may be yours or a gift recipient’s.
  • A birthday, if you choose to give one, so Kate can personalize that month’s letter.
  • For gifts:the recipient’s email address and your gift note, if you ask us to tell them about the gift.
  • Payment detailsare entered on Stripe’s secure checkout page. We never see or store your full card number.

How we use it

To mail your letters, process payments, send the emails that go with your subscription (receipts, welcome and gift notices, account links), and answer you when you write to us. We don’t send marketing emails.

Who we share it with

Only the services that run the subscription for us, each of which handles your data only for that purpose:

  • Stripe, for payments and receipts
  • Supabase, which stores subscriber records
  • Resend, which sends our emails
  • Vercel, which hosts this website
  • The US Postal Service, to deliver your letters

We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Cookies

We don’t use analytics or advertising cookies. Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout page to process payments and prevent fraud.

How we protect it

Everything travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Subscriber records are stored with access limited to us, and card details stay with Stripe.

How long we keep it

We keep your details while your subscription is active, and afterwards for as long as we need them for tax and accounting records. Ask us and we’ll delete anything we don’t have to keep.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing friendshipposts@yahoo.com. If a gift is being sent to you and you’d rather it wasn’t, let us know and we’ll stop it.

Children

Subscriptions are bought by adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13, except a name and mailing address a parent or gift-giver provides so a letter can be delivered.

Changes and contact

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. Questions? Email friendshipposts@yahoo.com.
